Abstract
One tool designed to aid this process is the Contraceptive Decision Aid (CDA), an interactive resource intended to help healthcare providers, such as doctors and midwives, assist clients in making informed choices. This study examines continuous midwifery care, starting from the third trimester of pregnancy and continuing through family planning services, focusing on the use of Evidence-Based Practice Midwifery (EBM) through the CDA tool. It was conducted at the Belantaraya Health Post in Indragiri Hilir District from March to June 2025. The aim was to help mothers select the most appropriate contraceptive method for their individual circumstances during breastfeeding. Descriptive data analysis was used to assess the effectiveness of the intervention. Continuous care provided to Mrs. U (20 years old, G1P0A0) proceeded smoothly, with no complications. Pre-test results indicated a "fair" knowledge level (72%), with Mrs. U unaware of contraceptives that do not affect breastfeeding. Post-test results showed an improvement to a "good" knowledge level (80%), as she gained an understanding of safe contraceptive methods for breastfeeding mothers. The results suggest that using the CDA tool in counseling can significantly enhance knowledge and encourage greater participation in family planning
