Early initiation of breastfeeding (EIBF) and rooming-in are essential components of evidence-based midwifery practice that contribute to enhanced mother-infant bonding, neonatal physiological stability, and the success of exclusive breastfeeding. This study aims to implement continuity of midwifery care for Mrs. D (30 years old, G2P1A0), focusing on the application of EIBF and rooming-in from labor to the postpartum period. The care was provided at RSUD Minas from April to July 2025. The EIBF process was carried out immediately after placental delivery when the baby was stable, by placing the baby on the mother’s chest for skin-to-skin contact and assisting breastfeeding within the first hour. Rooming-in continued during postpartum care, including breastfeeding education, monitoring of the baby’s vital signs, and strengthening the mother’s role in newborn care. The results showed that EIBF was successfully implemented within the first hour after delivery, and the mother was able to breastfeed effectively. Rooming-in had a positive impact on mother-infant attachment, neonatal temperature regulation, and increased breast milk production.
