PERAWATAN METODE KANGURU (PMK) TERHADAP PENINGKATAN BERAT BADAN BBLR
Abstrak
Background: The main causes of infant death are premature and low birth weight, infection, asphyxia (lack of oxygen at birth) and birth trauma. This causes almost 80% of deaths to occur at this age. Disorders that occur in newborns, especially LBW babies often occur due to the baby losing heat quickly and becoming hypothermic, because the body's heat regulation center has not functioned properly.
Purpose: the aim of the research was to find out the effect of H. Abdul Moeloek Lampung Province Research Methods: This study used a "quasi-experimental" design. The study population was all mothers with LBW babies in the Perinatology Room of RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Lampung Province in June 2016, a total of 30 people, a total sample population of 30 people. Data collection using observation sheets and data analysis used is the Dependent T test.
Results: The average body weight before the Kangaroo Method Treatment (PMK) was 2046.97 grams with a standard deviation of 207.3 grams, the average body weight after the Kangaroo Method Treatment (PMK) was 2155.9 grams with a standard deviation of 208.6 grams. There is an increase in LBW weight in the Perinatology Room of RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Lampung Province 2016 (pvalue 0.000)
Conclusion: There is an effect of the Kangaroo Method of Treatment (PMK) on an increase in LBW weight before and after the Kangaroo Method of Treatment (PMK) in the Perinatology Room of RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek, Lampung Province, 2016 (p value 0.000). The kangaroo method is one of the care that involves parents in caring for low birth weight babies.
